Storyline
Ted Swenson is an unsuccessful writer and instructor of writing at a small liberal arts college. He is dissatisfied with his marriage to Sherrie, has a drinking problem, dislikes his colleagues, and feels uninspired by his students. But everything changes when a charming student named Angela enrolls in his class. Ted becomes obsessed with helping her career, and soon the lines between mentor and mentee become blurred.
