Ted and Maureen Biehn’s lives are forever altered when their daughter is hit by a car, and their tragedy begins to intertwine with another – the meteoric collision with Earth that wiped out 75% of all living species 65 million years ago.
Three young men from San Francisco, who live a life full of sex and drugs, are enticed to the countryside in 1983 to cultivate marijuana. They soon discover that they are stranded in a shabby cabin located in the middle of nowhere. They have to deal with difficult and hostile growing conditions, inquisitive neighbors, hostile locals, and menacing law enforcement officials.
The film follows William Lightbody’s experiences during his visit to a health farm managed by Dr. John Harvey Kellogg, a cereal tycoon. William’s wife, Eleanor, has convinced him to seek treatment from Kellogg to purify his system. However, Kellogg’s methods are highly unconventional and almost savage in nature.
Lonnie lies to his boss about needing to attend work, instead he spends the day with his wife, Clover, and their infant daughter. During a chance encounter with a former high school friend, Lonnie lies to him about having a business meeting. This leads to a chain of events that spirals out of control and reveals the darker sides of Lonnie’s personality.
