Stewart Kane, an Irishman residing in the Australian town of Jindabyne, is on a remote fishing trip with three others when they stumble upon the body of a murdered girl in a river. Instead of immediately returning to town, they continue fishing and only report the discovery days later. Claire, Stewart’s wife, is the last to know. Disturbed by her husband’s actions, her faith in their relationship wavers.
