On August 7th, 1974, Philippe Petit, a young Frenchman, walked out onto a wire that had been illegally set up between the Twin Towers of New York, which were the tallest buildings in the world at the time. He spent nearly an hour performing on the wire before being arrested, evaluated by psychologists, and jailed. However, he was eventually released. James Marsh’s documentary features Philippe Petit’s own recollections of the event, as well as those of some of the people who aided him.
