Storyline
In a remote Iranian village, a French journalist finds himself stranded and approached by Zahra, a woman with a harrowing tale to tell about the recent death of her niece, Soraya. As the journalist starts recording, Zahra takes him back to the beginning of her story, involving Soraya’s husband, a fraudulent mullah, and a town easily swayed by deception, coercion, and hysteria.
