Storyline
In the early 20th century, American medicine cabinets housed a potential treasure trove for would-be poisoners, yet the knowledge to detect and prevent crimes committed with these substances lagged behind. In 1918, New York City’s inaugural scientifically trained medical examiner, along with his chief toxicologist, elevated forensic chemistry into a formidable science and established standards that would influence the rest of the country.

“The author of a book pretty much gives up control of the story when the producers take over a book to make it into a movie.”
