Storyline
Hanson, a journalist known for drinking on the job, is initially tasked with covering the town of Moran, where bootlegger Sam Horner holds sway. Failing in his mission, Hanson is replaced by Willie Bindbugel, who uncovers the gang’s hideout in a roadhouse where Lola Fagan, his childhood sweetheart, performs. Unaware of Hanson’s fate, Willie remains, and Lola, attempting to protect him, tricks him into thinking he’s been fired and suggests they elope.
