Storyline
During the Great Depression, Eliza’s father-in-law passes away abruptly, leaving her with two small children, an unpicked orange crop on a heavily mortgaged farm, and little money. Aunt Batty encourages her to have faith by quoting scripture. Although the mortgage payment is due in less than 30 days, Gabe Harper, a roaming veteran with excellent manners and an air of mystery, is eager to assist with the harvest.
