Storyline
Erwin Vandeveer, an actor who failed his first big role in New Orleans, ends up stuck in Buffalo Gap, Texas. Fortunately, he meets the lovable and financially-strapped oil driller Merle Luskey, who takes Erwin under his wing and dubs him his ‘Savin’ Angel.’ The duo embarks on an absurd and entertaining journey to outsmart the bank, sheriff, and corrupt oil company in a race against time to strike it rich before Merle’s aspirations are crushed.
