An individual known for his savage acts of spousal murder, who had vanished years ago, has now reemerged using a different identity – or so it appears. Van Veeteren holds personal motivations for desiring his capture.

In 517 A.D., the evil Blood Queen Vivienne Nimue unleashes a plague on England until King Arthur thwarts her with the aid of Ganeida, a member of her coven. Sending an SO19 team to retrieve Hellboy, Bruttenholm introduces Hellboy to M11 agent Ben Daimio and relays that Nimue’s remains have been taken, and the last piece is stored at the Osiris Club.

A group of humans arrive on Sirius 6-B to investigate an SOS signal sent out from the planet, which has been supposedly deserted since the destruction of the man-made weapons known as screamers. Once the squad arrives, they find a group of human survivors eking out an existence in an old military outpost, but more important, they discover that the threat of the screamers has become even more insidious, now that they’re able to morph into human form.
