In 1985, computer expert David A. Brown enlists the help of two teenage girls to murder his wife. He manipulates the girls into committing the crime and plans the murder himself. As the investigation progresses, it reveals Brown’s web of deceit and manipulation, which is ultimately exposed in a series of shocking revelations.
Rita Fiore enlists Spenser’s services to investigate the alleged involvement of repeat offender Ellis Alves in the murder of a college student. As Spenser delves deeper into the case, he encounters opposition from various quarters, including the investigating officer and the parents of the victim’s boyfriend.
