Austen’s classic comic novel follows the story of the “handsome, clever and rich” Emma Woodhouse. In 1757, British Army Major Duncan Heyward arrives in Albany, New York during the French and Indian War. There are significant differences between this adaptation and the original novel. Whereas the action of the novel takes place in France, this screen version is set in the UK in 1952 as Britain prepares for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.
