The movie chronicles the life of Irene Gut Opdyke, a Polish nurse honored with the Righteous Among the Nations medal for her extraordinary bravery in trying to save Polish Jews during World War II.

When an Edinburgh schoolgirl is abducted DI Ray Lennox, due to his own traumatic past, identifies strongly with the victim. He believes the murderer is the serial killer Mister Confectioner.
